Welcome to Ars-Informatica

If you want to build a ship don't herd people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea. (Antoine-Marie-Roger de Saint-Exupéry)

Can-n-one supported databases

In developing a distributed ECU network based on CAN, a key component is the communication description in the form of DBC files.

Described in DBC databases are the properties of the CAN network, the ECUs connected to the bus, and the CAN messages and signals.

In order to be database agnostic Can-n-one uses an xml based database.

The Can-n-one editor offers options for visualizing the data contained in the XML databases and for modifying the data easily. For this purpose it contains specialized, application orientated views on the data.

The Can-n-one editor supports developers in various phases of the development process:

  • creation of XML files;
  • adding messages and signals to existing XML databases;
  • definition of transmission and reception relations;
  • adding special messages for test purposes;
  • adding messages for calibrating the ECUs.
